HOW TO INSTALL

    1. Select the method of mounting that best suits your purpose. (See illustrations A, B, C)
A. Inside mounting to the inside or between the sides of the window frame.
B. Outside mounting to the face or outside the window frame
C. Ceiling mounting to an overhead surface such as the top inside of window frame or the ceiling.
  1. Measure where you want the blind to hang, make sure that the blind is centred and level. When it is positioned properly, make a small pencil mark at each side of the blind to show where you attach the mounting brackets.
  2. Hold one bracket with the ‘door’ section opening to left on left side of blind /right on right side of blind at desired height and width you have chosen and mark the screw holes with a pencil. Then insert and tighten screw through bracket slot.
  3. After the first bracket is mounted, carefully position and attach the second bracket. Double check to be sure it is level with the first bracket and that the brackets are the proper distance apart.
  4. Some larger blinds do require additional support. An L-shaped centre support bracket will be included with your blind if this is the case.
  5. If your blind is being fitted into a recess, then it is advised that you attach the valance clips onto the headrail before fixing the blind into the end brackets.
  6. Pick up the blind and slide the headrail into the brackets. Make sure that the blind cord and tilt cords mechanism faces toward you. Close the front cap/door on each bracket. (See illustration D)

Lowering: Hold cord at eye level and move to the left, pulling down gently until cord lock releases. Allow cord to slip through fingers until blind reaches desired level. Move pull cord to the right and release. Blind will lock automatically.

Raising: Pull cord downward until blind reaches desired height, release cord. The blind will lock automatically. The lift cord is generally located on the right hand side of the blind.

Tilting: Pull one cord gently to rotate the slats to the required angle. Pulling the other cord will reverse the action. The tilt cords are generally located on the left hand side of the blind.

SPARE REPLACEMENT SLATS

Please note that as with all Natural Wood products, variations in grain, texture and colour along with some slight warpage may occur. These are an inherent characteristic of real wood blinds.

Warpage of individual slats is most likely to occur in the first few weeks after fitting and can be as a reaction to the change in atmospheric conditions or humidity. We have supplied you with some spare slats and we recommend that you keep these to replace any slats that may warp.

TO REPLACE SLATS

  1. Remove the cord locks on the underside of the bottom rail.
  2. Pull the central lift cords through the holes punched in the slats as required.
  3. Remove and replace the warped slat/s.
  4. Re-cord lift control down through the punch holes in all slats and bottom rail and tie to secure.
  5. Re-fit cord locks.

HOW TO SHORTEN

After installing, lower the blind and check to see exactly how much shorter it should be. First remove bottom rail buttons with screw driver and untie or cut knot of pull cord. Withdraw cord through hole in bottom rail and holes in slats to the desired shortening point. Remove bottom rail and extra slats. Replace bottom rail into ladder tape nearest desired shortening point. Insert lift cord through hole in bottom rail and retie knot. Cut off excess ladder tape and pull cord leaving 25mm (1”) on ends. Insert ends into bottom rail hole and replace buttons.

An Easy way to Measure Window Blinds for Bay Windows

An Easy way to Measure Window Blinds for Bay Window

To measure for window blinds for bay windows you firstly need to work out the intersecting points of the blinds to determine the width of each blind. You need to select your slat size so you can get the depth you need to calculate the intersection point.

On window blinds in a bay there will be a small gap where the window treatments meet. Follow these easy steps to measure your blinds.

Bay Window

How to Measure for Window Blinds into a Bay

  1. Cut two pieces of cardboard at the thickness of the slat and at around 30cm long.
  2. Place the pieces of cardboard so the front edges meet like they are the actual blind slats at each intersection point (See diagram above)
  3. Make a smallmarkon the front edge where they intersect. Repeat the step for both blinds.
  4. Next you need to measure each side of the window blinds. The left blind measurement will be from the intersection point wemarked to the window frame. Make sure your measurement is an equal distance away from the window as the intersection point. Minus 1cm from both of these blinds for clearance.
  5. Finally measure the centre bay blind by measuring the distance from each intersection point.
