“I came to Pickering with health issues and stayed for 6-8 months.  It was the best thing that ever happened to me.  Everyone embraced me as if I was family.  After I got better a cottage opened up and I moved here in 2003.

If someone was to ask what are three things that you like best about living at Pickering Manor I would say: the good size of the cottages, the friendliness of the staff and the fact that residents here always look neat and well kept. But, what I love the most is the fact that Michelle, the Executive Director is always available. I know that I know I can pick up the phone and call her if I need anything.”

“We only had to take one tour of Pickering Manor and we knew Mom would be well taken care of.  We loved the smallness of this retirement community because it allows for tailored services and stronger relationships between residents and care-givers.

“In 2003 we visited six different places and decided to rent an apartment at Pickering Manor.  We liked the concept of independent living.  We’re covered for a lifetime if we want, without any restrictions.

There is such a strong feeling of community here.  Everyone watches out for one another.  The best thing for us is that we have a comfortable home in Newtown – near our grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also, we love the fact that we can continue to stay involved in our synagogue.”
